Guessing, maybe an old, dying battery, an a failing alternator or both. Have both tested to diagnose.

Jay, driving 75 mph and getting 33-34 mpg is phenomenal! Slow down to the speed limit and the gas mileage will increase even more.

Cars that are neglected will wear out faster, yes. But still, this sounds extremely excessive. Are you certain that all those parts really need replacing?

Avoid anything made in China, as invariably it will be cheap and leave you disappointed. Tires and brakes are the two most important components on your vehicle, because if either of them fail, well it could really ruin your day. For this reason, I always recommend to purchase the best you can...
