    Valve Tap

I'm glad my advice helped you out. Although it's never fun to have to put money into the daily driver, imagine the world of hurt you would have been in had that timing chain failed halfway into your trip. You would have had to pay a big tow bill and additional repair costs. So try to look on...

1983 - My Head May Be Gone

Depending if the exhaust is leaking into the coolant or not, yes. Any auto center that has exhaust gas analyzer equipment, (used for emissions testing), can take the probe that is normally installed in the tailpipe and put it into the radiator overflow tank. If the probe detects unburned...

    Anyone Flush Your Transmission Yet?

Sure. When upgrading to AMSOIL synthetic ATF, hundreds of my customers have flushed their transmissions with great results. I can send you detailed step-by-step instructions, along with a couple of video's if you wish?

2006 Corolla Too Light - Tires Spin

A more aggressive all season tire. The Michelin Harmony has a tread design that is almost like a summer/highway tire.

Do you have a basic tool set with socket wrenches, etc?

    Valve Tap

Well the oil doesn't touch the valve seats, where the valve contacts the cylinder head. This sounds more like a mechanical condition that a professional automotive technician can diagnose for you.

2003 Corolla - Rocker Panel Rust

It will probably need more than just sanding. A drill with a grinder attachment might be better. A professional body shop could do the job the best.

    2003 Corolla - Light Issues

Sounds like some kind of electrical short and there's no way to diagnose that over the Internet. You're best bet is a Toyota automotive technician at the dealership.

    Valve Tap

How many miles has this noise persisted? Are you sure it's a valve?

    Valve Tap

A thicker oil can make the problem worse. Pour in oil additives are not recommended by Toyota engineers and can cause unplanned and negative affects. What year/make/model/engine is this, how many miles are on it, when did this noise start, (as in miles), and under what circumstances did this...

2002 - Need to Replace All Four Struts - Which Brand?

Monroe is an excellent brand and comes with a lifetime warranty. Advance Auto Parts sells Monroe struts and shocks. I believe Autozone does too.

2003 Corolla - Rocker Panel Rust

It will have to be ground off right down to the metal and repainted. If this isn't done soon, the rust will quickly spread and eat away at various parts of the sheet metal causing very expensive to repair damage.

1993 Corolla DX - Transmission Sticking

With the transmission behaving better when hot, it sounds like this problem is related to the viscosity of the transmission fluid when cold, (not good), vs hot, (acceptable). Visually check the condition of the transmission fluid via the dipstick and a white paper towel. It should be pinkish...

    Suspension Suggestions

Raising a vehicle higher into the air will cause the fuel economy to drop, increase noise at highway speeds and can make the car harder to drive straight when at highways speeds, particularly with any wind. This would also reduce handling and increase tire wear. I don't recommend it. If the...

You're quite welcome. Good luck with the job!

    Intake Gasket

My pleasure. Good to know you were able to get a handle on it. Aren't cars fun? lol :) Vacuum leaks can really cause an engine to run horribly.

    CEL Evap Code

Any Advance Auto Parts store will scan your Corolla's onboard computer for free and check for stored trouble codes. Depending on your states emissions laws, they may also be able to clear the codes and then if the new gas cap did the trick, the check engine light will now stay off.
