Check Engine Light On - No Code Stored

Welcome to the Corolla Forum! :) Take your car to Advance Auto Parts or Autozone, (both would be a good idea), and they will scan your Corolla's onboard computer for free. See what they find, write down the trouble codes and get back with us here.

What to Look for In A '95 Corolla?

With the high performance/racing parts on this car and the very high mileage, I strongly recommend you pass on this Corolla. With parts like that installed on the car, that means it has been pushed very, very hard, which will wear out parts much faster and that's bad enough for any car and...

    Signal Light Not Blinking

Buy a new bulb and hold onto the receipt. Replace the bulb and before reassembling it, test to see if the bulb will now blink. Also check to make sure where the bulb connects is not full of dirt and rust, as that can cause problems too. If it does, you're good to go. If it doesn't, reinstall...

    Signal Light Not Blinking

Welcome to the Corolla Forum! :) That's likely a blown bulb. Yes, the bulb can still illuminate but not flash when it is broken/worn out.

    Replacing Driver Side Axle

Welcome to the Corolla Forum! :) Any Firestone auto center offers a credit card offering six months interest free financing, so as long as you make a payment on time every month and pay off the balance within that six month time frame, you pay no interest. This can really help in budgeting...

    2002 - Vibrating

Yes, but that's bouncing, not a vibration.

    2002 - Vibrating

Unless the struts are loose and are not bolted down, they will not cause a vibration as they don't spin. For a vibration to be occurring it has to be something that is spinning that is out of balance or bent.

Check Engine Light On - What Are the Possibilities?

What was the trouble code(s) they found? We can look this up and tell you what it is. Did they tell you? If not, before doing another thing have the computer scanned by Advance Auto Parts or Autzone, (again they will do this for free), and post the trouble code(s) they found here. We can...

2006 Corolla - Cold Start Knocking and CEL

Here is an explanation of cold weather oil performance that I thought you'd be interested in - The Pour Point Test determines the lowest temperature at which a lubricant will flow. The lower a lubricant’s pour point, the better protection it provides in low-temperature service. Unlike...

2006 Corolla - Cold Start Knocking and CEL

Yes, that would be a petroleum oil with the inherent cold winter temperature problems they have, as I mentioned. I can get you AMSOIL synthetic motor oils that have outstanding cold winter properties and will greatly improve lubrication, reduce engine wear, improve fuel economy and save you...

2006 Corolla - Cold Start Knocking and CEL

Hi fubag. I am guessing the engine has the old school petroleum oil in it? If so, the knocking noise probably came from that, as petroleum oils perform comparatively poorly in the cold. In the cold they can get very thick, flowing poorly or not at all, allowing metal-to-metal contact to occur...

Ethanol In Our Fuel Mandate Being Reduced!

http://www.startribune.com/business/233081631.html This is great news! At least now we'll have less of a big government mandate of ethanol in our fuel! Yes! Next, it needs to be eliminated from our fuel altogether! Ethanol in gasoline reduces fuel economy and costs all of us money in higher...

Check Engine Light On - What Are the Possibilities?

desertbluesman - There is a good probability that the auto center that performed the $2,600 in repairs on your Corolla did something, accidentally bumped a wire connection, etc., that is causing the check engine light to come on. I recommend going back to them and saying, "I just spend $2,600...
