The stock wheels on the S Plus/Premium are 17x7's, & I was easily getting 30+ MPG with my aggressive driving. I averaged about 375 miles/tank. Now that I'm 18x8" wheels, my mileages has take a big hit. I'm averaging about 23.5 MPG with the same aggressive driving. Got stickier tires though...

With the factory MAFS, yes of course! The thing won't run without the sensor installed/connected, or at least not very well. I'm not going to risk testing that. There were vast improvements though once I replaced the factory MAFS with the JetChip one. I have to agree with C.D. that it's a bit...

Of course one would have to spend thousands of dollars on their vehicle to get the horsepower. It all starts with the vehicle, as the WRX that you keep bringing up is a bit more expensive than the Corolla last I checked. Especially if you want the STI, but I understand your point. ;)

LOL! That might be fun!!! :p The thing is that the sidewall height is a percentage of the width of the tire. Therefore with a wider tire, a 40 series is still 40% off the width. When going from a 7" wide to the 8" wide tire, like I did, the wider tire is taller. My car even sits higher than it...

Mine is less than 2 years old, with just over 23k miles, & I just had to have the CVT replaced. Luckily the dealership did it under warranty. I do drive it fast & hard, drag racing here & there, running it up to the red line constantly. I honestly do not feel that the CVT was built for this...

I too upgraded to 18x8" wheels, with 225/40 tires. Honestly, I wish I had gone with a 35 or even a 30 series tire. I prefer a more low profile look with the tires.

Theoretically, the CVT shouldn't need service for a long time. Considering that mine is less than 2 years old, with only a lil over 23k miles, & the dealer is already replacing the CVT; who's to say for sure???

It's my understanding that if you remove the console trim, to remove the entire boot; you can turn it inside out, & cut the zip-tie that is holding that chrome piece on.
